I have a slight case of mom guilt at the moment......you are currently 23 months old and I'm just now posting about you at 19 months! Sorry babe! In my defense we are always super busy and something is always more important than blogging:) There are a few points I typed out on my phone to remember you at this age. This is when you started getting really sneaky with everything you do. I have to really watch you and sometimes ask Addison to check on you if I can't. You will get into the craziest things or try to maneuver something in a way you shouldn't. You are just a little explorer and want to figure out how everything works! You are super fast. I have a pretty hard time catching you too. Not because your so fast but because you make quick moves at the last minute that trick me into believing you're headed in another direction. You obviously think things ahead! I will sometimes just leap across our big coffee table cause I get tired of this catch game. You think this is sooo hilarious.
You have been eating with a spoon and can do it pretty well. I remember you would hate it if I would try and feed you with the spoon but then you would get mad when I just put it down. You found it hard to get all the food on the fork/spoon. SO, I figured out your frustration and would scoop the food for you but then let you feed it to yourself. Yeah, that took alot of patience! BUT it made you happy!
Here we are just goofing off outside. You're such a little monkey. You've got the sweetest/silliest smile! We always laugh cause you do this thing where you scrunch your nose and your little teeth show through. We call it your chipmunk smile. Lets just say we are going to be having lots and lots of dental work done. No worries Melody, your sister will be right there with you! Y'all both have really crowded teeth and the dentist has already prepared us for the future with y'all:)
More playtime outside. You typically just want to do whatever Addison is doing. Really you just want to steal whatever she is playing with. You will take whatever it is and run as fast as you can away from her with this worried look on your face. It is the funniest thing! Y'all still have the best time together though.
Trying to be a baby in the baby doll stroller. You will squeeze yourself into this as much as you can. You just love pretending you're a baby!
You are still very much a momma's girl. You won't let anyone else give you your nightime milk if you know I'm in the house. You will scream and throw a fit until you get me in that recliner with your milk and water and Dora on the tv. You just melt in my arms. People are always shocked (grandparents) that you do this but I have to say I love it!
Look at those teeth! One of my favorite little smiles! It really could light up a room.
You are a little tiger fan. You get so excited when we chant, "LSU, LSU!" You can even pick out LSU stuff in stores. You just start freaking out when you see the purple and gold and Mike the tiger!
You still have those sweet rosy cheeks. I love them!
One of the few pony tails that I was able to put in your hair. You just rip them down. The funny thing is that you bring me the rubber band and expect me to put it right back in every time. We are pretty close to that first haircut. (Not right here but at 23 months)!
You love milk so very much. You call it "MIK". You just shout for it over and over. I will say your love for milk has really helped this momma. When Addison was this age she just didn't want to take much milk from a cup. I was always measuring and analyzing and it just had me in a ball of stress. She still doesn't drink a ton of milk these days but she makes it up with cheese, yogurt and ice cream!
One thing you have definitely started doing is digging through my makeup drawer! I can't even put on makeup cause you wedge yourself in between me and the drawer while I'm sitting on the stool. It is so frustrating! I got tired of constantly telling you no and being worried about things spilling everywhere. You LOVE to unscrew caps and put them back on. Anything with tops completely intrigues you! So....I got Daddy to install one of those baby proof magnetic locks in the drawer. We had to go this route cause you have mastered all of the other baby proof things. I love it and you get sooo aggravated when you can't open the drawer. You were so confused the first time it wouldn't open! HA!!
Your legs look so long right here!
You love to draw and paint. Anytime I give you something to write with you just go crazy.
You love to lay in Addison's bed at home or the one Totsie sets up for her in Ruston. You ALWAYS sleep with your head on the pillow. You have done this from the moment I put one in your bed. That has always shocked me.
Chillin' on sisters potty. Notice how Addison is reading you a book while you are sitting on the potty. Addison LOVES to have people read to her on the potty. We always tell her we will read to her as soon as she tee tees. That way we aren't sitting there forever. She does it real quick and then gets her story. You are sooo ready to be potty trained but this momma just doesn't have it in her. I really want to wait until you're 3 just like we did with Addison. I think it was great with her cause she was old enough and there were no communication barriers. We did the 3 day training program with her and BAM never looked back. That is exactly what I want to do again. I would rather wait another year and do it over the weekend rather than start now and battle with it for the rest of the year. No thanks!! So in the meantime you just think it's cool to sit on the potty.
Still carry "La La" everywhere you go.
You love this horse. You get on that sucker and just go to town!
Here we are at the doctor. You saw her A LOT during the school year. Addison was so kind to share her school germs with you! That's ok though. I know that by the time you go to school, your immune system will be that much stronger!
Sound asleep in the car. That's so rare- like never happens! The only time it would is if you were sick or if we were in the car during nap time. We are home during nap time 99% of the time. If y'all napped in the car all the time it would just not be good. We would have some super grumpy girls on our hands!
You have mastered the art of taking your clothes off. It just happened one day and I was shocked! Addison never did this and her OT would talk to us about working on that. Well well, it seems all it takes is having a little peer pressure at home. As soon as you started learning how to do this, Addison was right on it. You two just take off and put on clothes all day long. Thanks Melody! Sometimes the best therapy is right at home!
I'm just glad you don't do this in public! It's funny cause as soon as we walk in the door from running errands or picking Addison up, the clothes come off. I understand though- who wants to wear clothes in this heat?!
I have to watch you with the crayons. You tend to try and eat them so I just basically keep them away from you. That's pretty sad! Maybe one day you'll learn.
Chillin' in the pool with no water. We just didn't fill those suckers up that much this Summer. We would much rather go to an actual pool!
Love this of you! Such a sweet pic and definitely shows your personality.
You are SO So fearless! You push the limits on everything physical and just try to find some challenging way to do everything.
These next pics are of you learning to climb the ladder to the play set. Again, you were a pro from the start. You are just a mover and a groover.
Lovin' on Daddy! I'm pretty sure you made his day! He said you just naturally laid down like that.
AND another way to make him proud! Wearing his LSU hat!
This is where you learned how to climb in the recliner. It just happened so fast and came as a total shock to us. I was more worried than anything. I knew how fearless you were and just thought your new found love of climbing would be a scary combination!
